Saxophonist and Teacher Mike Stopher has been developing the talents of musicians for many years.  With over 25 years experience as a musician and band director, Mike has the experience, knowledge and expertise to help saxophonists of all ages and ability grow in their talents.  Mike's education includes a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from California State University at Long Beach and a Master's Degree in Saxophone Performance from the University of Oregon.  He has been a band director in middle & high schools and college in California and Oregon.  

A Little History...

• Mike has a Bachelor's Degree in music education from California State University Long Beach and a Master's Degree in saxophone performance from the University of Oregon.
• Over 20 years experience as a high school and middle school band director in California and Oregon and former judge with the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association.
• Chairman and host of numerous band, jazz and solo festival events in California and Oregon.
• Professional saxophonist and private music teacher since 1978. Mike's saxophone students consistently perform well and place in top positions in Salem area and Oregon honor groups, solo competitions and state competitions.

Your saxophone lessons are about building your skills and confidence.  When you begin lessons it doesn't matter what your abilities are.  We will start right where you are.  Try out your first couple of lessons without commitment.  Then decide if you are ready to make the investment of time and money.  Lessons are scheduled once per week for 30 minutes. Getting Started

First, check the Lesson Schedule for availability of a time that fits your schedule.  Next, complete the Contact Form to send me your basic information.  Then, we will continue by email or phone to make arrangements.  At this time we will discuss any questions you may have. Once you have had a couple of lessons you may decide if you are ready to commit to a weekly schedule.
